Jon Garich is a Pennsylvania native and former NCAA Division II swimmer at Gannon University, where he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Sport and Exercise Science. He later completed his Master’s in Athletic Training, all while serving for six years as a lifeguard and ATV first responder at Presque Isle State Park. During that time, he was named Lifeguard Olympic Champion twice, highlighting his elite aquatic rescue capabilities.
Jon is a 2024 USAT All-American triathlete and has competed at the Ironman 70.3 World Championships. He actively coaches and races in triathlon and running events and is a former bodybuilding gold medalist, bringing a unique blend of endurance, strength, and discipline to his coaching.
Professionally, Jon serves as the Assistant Athletic Director, Athletic Trainer, and Assistant Cross Country Coach, playing a vital role in athlete development, injury prevention, and athletic program leadership. He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), a member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA) and National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), and a Gatorade Performance Partner. He is also pursuing his USA Track & Field coaching certification to further expand his coaching toolkit.
Outside of school, Jon is the President of the Hutchinson Island Triathlon Club and Owner of Train, Transition, Triumph Multisport Coaching, where he works with athletes of all levels to help them reach their performance goals through individualized training and mentorship.
Above all, Jon is a proud father who brings passion, integrity, and dedication to everything he does. His diverse athletic background, leadership roles, and commitment to holistic athlete development make him a cornerstone of our athletics program.
